Consider the Longridge & Dixie Canyon Estates areas of Sherman Oaks.  There is wildlife aplenty here! The further up in the hills you go, the more animals you’ll likely see.  Although wild animals have been spotted throughout the Longridge Estates & Dixie Canyon Estates areas.  I have seen deer, possum, raccoons, coyotes, hawks and eagles (yes, there is an eagle breeding program at Franklin Canyon, just over the ridge from the top of Longridge).

Friends have told me that there have also been cougar, fox & wolf sightings in the area, especially during the Malibu fires when the animals scattered along the Santa Monica Mountains Consverancy land.   Rattlesnakes also live in the area. So, always be aware of the wildlife in your proximity when you’re walking in about property in the Longridge & Dixie Canyon Estates, and anywhere in the hills of Sherman Oaks.
