Deer family on hill

Consider the Longridge & Dixie Canyon Estates areas of Sherman Oaks.  There is wildlife aplenty here! The further up in the hills you go, the more animals you’ll likely see.  Although wild animals have been spotted throughout the Longridge Estates & Dixie Canyon Estates areas.  I have seen deer, possum, raccoons, coyotes, hawks and eagles (yes, there is an eagle breeding program at Franklin Canyon, just over the ridge from the top of Longridge).

Friends have told me that there have also been cougar, fox & wolf sightings in the area, especially during the Malibu fires when the animals scattered along the Santa Monica Mountains Consverancy land.   Rattlesnakes also live in the area. So, always be aware of the wildlife in your proximity when you’re walking in about property in the Longridge & Dixie Canyon Estates, and anywhere in the hills of Sherman Oaks.

The “Italian Middle Eastern Market & Deli“, located at 13246 Riverside Dr. in Sherman Oaks is run by brothers Emile & Joseph Haddad.   This is a great spot for homemade Middle Eastern delights!  Lebanese food at it’s best, the babaganoush, hummus, tabouli, grape leaves are terrific! And, there’s so much more to sample and savor.   Valley Food Magazine wrote an article and recommended their lemony hummus as the best!
Emil and Joseph have welcomed their customers with a warm smile and friendly atmosphere for over 23 years!   It’s well worth the trip for great food.  And what’s more, they’ll remember you and welcome you back when you return, which undoubtedly, you will.  Whether you live around the corner in Sherman Oaks, or in a nearby area of Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Valley Village or anywhere else in the general vicinity, it’s well worth your time and effort to get there.  You’ll enjoy all their savory delicacies, time after time!  They’ll make you sandwiches, deli platters, lunch boxes and more.  Take their food home, or go to a nearby park for a picnic.  You’ll be glad you did!Joseph & Emile at Mid East
