“Three Magical Miles”

By: Lauren Rauschenberg

I built my horse property Estate in Historic Cornell and road my horses in Paramount Ranch, the 2,700-acre “backlot” of the Hollywood studio. I soon learned the magic of Hollywood- having celebrities as neighbors and friends, and riding in the midst of filming for various TV shows and movies. This area is rich with history as illustrated and told by author Brian Rooney in his book “Three Magical Miles”.

For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to page through this book, it is a phenomenal book that captures the Malibu Mountains from the 1800′s to now. Iconic shows such as M*A*S*H (cast pictured above) and the movie, Frankenstein were shot in the area. The recently published third edition features, over 300 photographs – mostly historical – ranging from the late 1800’s to the present day”. Rooney recently held a signing of his latest edition at Ladyface Ale House and Brasserie. The restaurant prides itself in local support of artists so they welcomed the opportunity to host the author for a signing.

If you’d like to pick up a copy of the book, please visit the official website at www.r7media.com/3MM.html for more information.
