is the monthly Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council Meetings which takes place at the Sherman Oaks Elementary School auditorium. This past Monday, the 11th, I quelled both my curiosity and my continuing interest to further be a part of our local Community and attended.  Many important and current issues are discussed. If you would like to address what is on the agenda or any other topics, you are requested to fill out a simple form indicating so and it is given to the President for your opportunity to voice your topic and opinion. Some of the issues discussed were the updates of the Hillside Ordinance, the medical marijuana clinic locations throughout the County and the egress and ingress of helicopter at Van Nuys airport and reduction of noise.

The Neighborhood Councils are liaisons to the City of Los Angeles. There are 7 divisions of the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council and each division is represented by a business, residential and community affairs’ person making the Board total 21.  This coming May 27, 2010 will be the next election.  A main component to qualify to be on the Board is that you need to live, work, have a child in one of the schools or attend a church, etc. in one of the 7 divisions for which you would be interested in representing.
