The Malibu Film Festival opens on October 6th this year with screenings at the Malibu Cinema sponsored by Pierce Brosnan, Keely Brosnan and Kym Gold. The films run from 7:30 PM to 11PM and the opening night party begins at 8 PM.
Among the films to be screened are “Miss South Pacific Beauty and the Sea”, as well as “Kissing Strangers” written and directed by festival founder David Katz. The Opening Night Party will be held at the Malibu Lumber Yard. 
The festival is dark on Yom Kippur but resumes on October 8th with screenings at the Malibu Lumber yard from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM, followed by the Awards Presentation and Closing Party. Stella Artois, Clear Channel and the Malibu Lumber Yard are among the sponsors of this year festival. Tickets for Thursday’s events are $20 per person and available through TicketWeb 866-468-3399 or at the Malibu CInema box office. They include admission to the Opening Party. Saturday event tickets may be purchased on TicketWeb and include admission to the Awards Presentation and Closing Party.
