“What you envision in 2007 is not going to be what you envision in 2010,” said Katy Dickey, a Westfield spokeswoman. “It’s reflective of the changing economy and consumer demand.”

Look for the new development across from Nordstrom’s at Westfield. Wonder what it will be…?

Ok, I’m ready to go with my Summer Single pick. I know it’s only July 16 but I am going with Pop Single of the Summer Jason Derulo “Ridin’ Solo.” The video is really lame, ok maybe it’s an homage to Michael Jackson, what-ever. I still love the song. The version I have on my iPod starts with a sample from The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony,” which is one of my very favorite songs of all times. I love this groove and it might just really strike me because I hear it riding my bicycle solo and it works.

My Alternative Pop Summer Single is Broken Bells “The High Road” and it is my top album of the year!

MGMT’s debut album “Oracular Spectacular” was one of my favorite debut’s of the last couple of years. It featured 3 stellar singles and still sounds great on the radio. So their follow-up “Congratulations” was highly anticipated. It is a great album in some ways (mostly sound and artistry) but it doesn’t have the single uuumph of “Oracular…” When young bands have big success many times the follow up is a let down, some times by design! Nirvana’s “Nevermind” and Green Day’s “Dookie” were both followed by more adventurous and more challenging follow-up’s. So that’s what you get with MGMT’s “Congratulations” a really interesting electro pop record with much more arty hooks than poppy hooks. It’s fun and adventurous but not for the teeny boppers.

Containing pressed seaweed, canola oil, sesame seed oil and sea salt, these 60 calorie packs are a healthy snack you can feel good about munching on at odd hours of the day. The health benefits of seaweed abounds as it is high in essential amino acids, which makes them valuable sources of vegetable protein in a vegetarian or mostly meatless diet.

Like most land vegetables, seaweeds contain vitamins A (beta carotene) and C. Seaweeds are rich in potassium, iron, calcium, iodine and magnesium because these minerals are concentrated in sea water. They are also one of the few vegetable sources of vitamin B-12.

For some hearty, heavy, completely authentic mexican food in the West San Fernando Valley, Taqueria Tapatio is spot. Unlike many authentic spots in Woodland Hills and Canoga Park, El Taqueria Tapatio is clean, has an ‘A’ rating, and provides a healthy setting with a couple flat screens and plenty of Mexican decor. Their extensive menu has it all. Almost anything you can think of exists from juicy Al Pastor tacos to Chile Relleno burritos. We sat there, under the air conditioning, watching the world cup, sipping our Coke from the bottle.

The taqueria caters as well; so it’s a great place to call if you’re hosting a (818) 883-6142.

A San Francisco based company recently introduced the idea of a Smart Plate – an electronic license plate that would advertise to surrounding car. Theoretically, a car with the Smart Plate, when stopped for more than 4 seconds, the license plate would flash an ad. What kind of ad, you ask? Therein lies the controversy.

The sponsor for this new project says the ads would be things like, save the whales or keep an eye out for a recently abducted child. This, however, remains to be seen. Others are understandably concerned about more distractions on our roads – just another way in which technology is harming us.

At the root of this new idea, the state of California seems to be leveraging it as a way to get the state out of debt, drivers acting as the conduit.

Recently, I received an email from my friend Maurice Fernandez, an influential thinker and evolutionary astrologer. In short, he wrote a call to action based on his cyclical understanding of the stars. His call, shrouded by an astrological perspective, essentially encourages us make better use of our time on earth.

As Fernandez postulates, a multitude of planetary bodies began forming in rare alignment around the fall of 2008. Coincidentally, this was also the time of Obama’s election and the beginnings of a blaring economic crisis. In the months of January and February of this year, Saturn moved into what is referred to as the Cardinal sign of Libra, which consequently forms a most powerful angle to Pluto in Capricorn. The radical shift in astrological terms remains nearly inconsequential without the third and final stage, which would, in effect, align these somewhat skittish planets in a cross on very sensitive degrees. This rare event is highly curious from an astrological perspective, forcing them to question the very truths in which we operate.

In times of uncertainty the masses continually seem to propose the identical useless question, “is it good or bad?” As most of us know, the world rarely operates on such black and white terms but rather in shades of informal grays. Therefore, it appears the most accurate answer is it all depends, that is, how does one deal with these cataclysmic changes?

As terrestrial beings we must consider our overwhelmingly uncertain reality. Do not expect security, consistency, or predictability. Move with the flow and inhale the changes as fluid, natural beings.

Whether these ideas mean anything to you or not, I do believe it holds the potential to speak to the humanity within every reader. Analyzing this message at a great level will assert that these ideas are far superior to astrology or any other belief; we are proposing the belief in oneself as an encouragement to our species. It is a chance to take a risk, to venture toward new horizons, to transition, to support, to listen and create.
