The Westfield shoppping center to experience some drastic changes

For those of you who haven’t heard, the Westfield shopping mall is expected to be massive. The Village in Warner Center will link together the existing Topanga and Promenade malls and is said to qualify as the biggest mall in Calfornia. With a 300 room, 4 star hotel, 150 condo’s and apartments, offices, and 550,000 square feet of shops and restaurants. There will be 4,100 parking spaces.
However, I recently heard from a spokesperson at corporate communications who shared
some insider information regarding the project.

“Certainly the current economic climate is a factor, but we continue to move forward through the review/approval process. As announced in recent results disclosures, although Westfield is not planning to begin any large project during the remainder of 2009, redevelopment is a major component of our long term value creation and we will continue to invest in the predevelopment of our high quality opportunities – which includes The Village — in order to be in a position to commence these projects when conditions are appropriate.”
The Village at Westfield Topanga says they envision a vibrant shopping, dining, living, entertainment and community experience, as well as sparking the rejuvenation of a previously underutilized area of Warner Center.
The environmentally friendly building practices while integrate world-class design, and aims to become the new spot for not only residents in the West Valley, but from people around the world.
