For those of us who are concerned with the drought situation and still want to enjoy our gardens, you may want to research the The Los Angeles Cactus and Succulent Society. The society was designed to spread information about succulents and cacti. Every month, an offering of activities and learning opportunities is available to enthusiasts and those of who wish to become enthusiasts.

Perfect for garden lovers or people who are simply interested in learning, the society meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 7:00pm at the Encino Community Center 4935 Balboa Blvd Encino. They have guest speakers, a hands-on workshop and field trips. For more information go to: www.lacss.com
