Mad Bulls Tavern in Sherman Oaks

OK….Here’s the scoop…Replacing Amazon Bar and Grill at 14649 Ventura Boulevard, Mad Bull’s Tavern is slated to open May 20th, as a full-service restaurant and bar. The menu is gourmet comfort food, explains a restaurant rep. “It’s completely different than Amazon,” he said. The space has been gutted and turned into a loft of sorts, with exposed brick, high ceilings, and polished industrial metals. “It’s a tavern. People are going to be pleased with what they see.”

Restaurateur Richard Disisto also owns Lucy’s 51 in Toluca Lake, which he opened in 2007. And chef Andrew Crawley (Foxtail, Hyatt West Hollywood, Sunset Beach) constructed Mad Bull’s menu to incorporate fresh California ingredients for the gastropub-type setting. Though there are other bars in the area, the rep explained, “We really wanted to create a Hollywood venue in the Valley.” The restaurant will be open for lunch, dinner, and late night, with an abbreviated bar menu. Appetizers start at $6, and entrees range from $12-$21.

SHERMAN OAKS/VAN NUYS CRUISE NIGHTS RETURN

Come cruise the Burbank Blvd.

Ok, let’s all have some fun and regress and remember that yes, WE DID CRUISE VAN NUYS BLVD. IN THE 60′S. Well I was there too with my ‘63 white Corvette, hardtop/convertible and actually met my husband there.

Van Nuys Cruise night is back on the second Wednesday of every month from 6pm-10pm but most action is from 7-9p. Now gathering at the former Rydell Chevrolet corner at Van Nuys and Burbank, which is now ‘Sherman Oaks,” you will find hundreds of cars parked. They also gather across the street in the West parking lot of Ralphs for the overflow. Cruisers displaying ALL types of vehicles head North to Victory/Vanowen and return to Burbank Blvd. LAPD is very supportive and most present to maintain the fun and excitement of the evening. Mark you calendars for October 14th and Let the Good Times Roll !

Child Portrait Studio Event Supporting Neighborhood Watch

CHILD PORTRAIT STUDIO EVENT
As an opportunity to raise funds to support the Van Nuys Station, Officer Mike Perez is presenting his “Child Portrait Studio”event to members of the Neighborhood Watch Groups, including Apartment Watch, Condo Watch and Business Watch, along with fellow officers.

If you have young children or Grand-children and would like to see them in a Police Officer’s Uniform in a professionally done photo, email me at ShermanOaksHomes@aol.com and I will send you back the appointment information for Saturday, October 3rd.

This is a limited engagement and by appointment only. The studio will provide Child L.A.P.D. Uniforms, Hats and Badges.
