Kristy’s Wood Oven & Wine Bar

Kristy's restaurant in Malibu

My recent move gave me a wonderful excuse to dine out every night ! Lucky for me Kristy’s Wood Oven and Wine Bar recently opened on Westward Beach Road. The restaurant is located at the Malibu Country Inn which has long been lacking a good restaurant that would attract locals , as well as serve guests. The locals love this place and I concur it offers some of the best food and service in Malibu at reasonable prices. Kristy and her husband Greg are welcoming hosts who formerly owned a restaurant in Las Vegas. The space they occupy here in Malibu is about as far from the desert as you can imagine with its beautiful views of Zuma Beach. There is a casual stylish dining room and a lovely patio which treat diners to the beautiful view of the sunset.

The menu is small but has a great selection of starters, salads, their specialty pizzas and entrees for every palate. The menu varies but there are always great pizzas, fish of the day and a terrific classic Caesar. I love the Caeser topped with tasty grilled shrimp and the Margherita pizza with a glass of wine from the wine bar. There are great crab cakes, a fantastic grilled rare Ahi tuna and a fabulous Shrimp penne arribiata. The atmosphere is friendly and the service professional with a great deal of warmth. This is one of my favorite places in town to have dinner alone or with friends.
The restaurant is open Thursday through Sunday for dinner and on the weekends they are open serving breakfast starting at 10:30. Reservations are recommended for dinner. 310-457-2802.
