Westward Beach hosts “Outsourced”

Westward Beach is a terrific sandy beach which lies adjacent to the more famous Zuma Beach. I love walking or jogging on Westward, meeting friends and people walking their dogs on the road. One of the fun things about my jaunts is that I never know what surprise event will be happening down there. Yesterday I was approaching the headlands when I observed a well dressed elephant walking on the beach! The comedy series “Outsourced” was shooting a scene on the sand and suddenly I was in India.

The beach is often the location for movie and television shoots including NCIS , as well as an assortment of television commercials. The area of the beach where the cliffs meet the sand (so popular with climbers), is also a favorite of fashion photographers.

I have also observed many weddings on the sands of Westward. The Sunset restaurant offers catering for couples who decide to have their wedding on Westward Beach. The Sunset is open for lunch on Fridays and brunch Saturday and Sunday, as well as dinner 7 nights a week. So if you are taking a sunset walk , watching whales or movie shoots there is a great ocean front stop for dinner or a cocktail.
